Homes in Stoney Creek are predominantly detached, single-family homes, with a limited number of options for townhouses and condos.
Getting around
Stoney Creek is a car-centric community. There are some bus routes to Hamilton and on to Toronto, but most residents own vehicles and use them for daily activities. A new light rail transit line is set to open in 2025. Part of the GO Train network, this line will connect Stoney Creek to downtown Hamilton, making downtown Toronto directly accessible. The line will eventually expand to Niagara Falls.

Schools
Stoney Creek is part of the Hamilton Wentworth school district with a number of public elementary schools, Orchard Park Secondary, as well as a handful of Montesorri, private and Christian or Catholic schools and daycares. Ontario College of Health and Technology is also in Stoney Creek.
